The Town of Cary honored nine outstanding Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources volunteers at the annual Volunteer Appreciation Picnic on September 23, including Sarah Martin, a long-time AHA partner via Wake County PTA Council, and chair of AHA’s Board of Directors, who received the Herb Young Award.

The Herb Young Award is given to a volunteer with overall outstanding service, leadership and support for and of the staff and programs of The Town of Cary’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department.

Sarah has served as the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Advisory Board since October 2011 and has been Chair for the last three years. Congratulations to Sarah and many thanks for her volunteer service to the AHA Board as well!
