AHA improves the health and well-being of Wake County residents by facilitating and supporting community initiatives.

Work Groups

AHA currently has several Work Groups comprised of AHA partners and interested community members that carry out AHA’s work and meet monthly:

  • Community Connections
  • Eastern Wake AHA
  • Western Wake AHA

Community Connections

This work group focuses on initiatives that increase access to healthful foods and physical activity by working with community organizations that have a significant impact on our community members’ lives and their health.

Eastern Wake AHA

This work group is comprised of municipal staff, business and community members from Knightdale, Wendell and Zebulon and is working locally to fulfill AHA’s mission in that region.

Western Wake AHA

This work group emerged to engage partners and individuals in the western part of the county and supports the work of AHA in a variety of projects that are of particular interest to partners in Western Wake.
