Childhood obesity programs and tools

Wake County has several medically-based programs to help with lifestyle modification to achieve a healthy weight. In this section of our site, you will find some of the programs available to our community.

The Healthy Lifestyles Program at Duke

The Healthy Lifestyles Program at Duke is a multidisciplinary referral clinic for the management of childhood obesity in children and teenagers aged 0-22. Treatment includes an initial screening for the causes and consequences of obesity, an intensive lifestyle intervention phase lasting six months, and a maintenance program that continues until adulthood.
