AHA improves the health and well-being of Wake County residents by facilitating and supporting community initiatives.

Building ACEs Resilience in Wake County

We’re pleased to announce our Honorary Co-chairs for ACEs Resilience in Wake County:  Orage Quarles, Interim President and CEO of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, and Lorrin Freeman, Wake County District Attorney. We value their leadership, as well as that of the Advisory Board and Steering Committee we are currently forming to mitigate the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) on Wake County residents and to build their resilience to these experiences.

AHA is seeking funding for this work while to convene leadership groups around this community-wide initiative. We are so grateful that Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina is sponsoring ACEs work in Wake County. For more information about sponsorship opportunities, contact AHA.

AHA is pleased to partner with Marbles Kids Museum to offer six community screenings of Resilience at the Marbles IMAX to enable more people to see the film as an introduction to ACEs and building resilience, and as a catalyst to taking action. Individuals and groups are invited to attend.

Tickets for the 8:30-9:30 am showings on Sept. 13, Oct. 11, Nov. 8, Dec. 13, Jan. 10 and Feb. 10 are free but required. Download this flier for more information and to share with others.
