Community Health Needs Assessment Action Planning Underway

chnaPartners on the Wake County Community Health Needs Assessment are moving from the priority definition stage to the action planning stage. In late September, WakeMed CEO Donald Gintzig and James West, chair of the Wake County Commissioners, hosted a gathering of community leaders.

Many have been working on this process, and many others providing feedback. Participants  reviewed each of the four priority areas (health insurance coverage, transportation, access to health services and mental health & substance abuse), and then moved into groups based on those priority areas. AHA Director Sara Merz is part of the Access to Health Services Group. This group defined a variety of strategies, including multiple ways to: improve health and healthy behaviors across the population, implement innovative service delivery models and more.

All are invited to provide input at the next session on Oct. 18, 4:30-8 pm at Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh. Dinner will be provided; register in advance.
