Roll or Stroll to Apex Farmers’ Market for EBT/SNAP Benefits and Healthy, Local Food

roll-and-strol-300x168Apex Farmers’ Market joins seven other farmers’ markets in Wake County this year in accepting Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits at the market and is offering a “double bucks” incentive for SNAP recipients; they can swipe their EBT card for $5 and receive $10 to shop the market. AHA and partners have advocated and supported for EBT acceptance at the markets for years so that everyone in our communities has access to fresh, nutritious foods from local growers.

The market also is encouraging a healthy community by hosting Roll or Stroll. Every time you bike, walk, jog or skate to the market, stop by the Welcome Tent to enter the Roll or Stroll drawing for $10 in Market Bucks. Drawings will be held monthly all season long.
