AHA Board Welcomes Lisa Cunningham
In January, AHA thanked long-time directors Kevin Cain of John Rex Endowment and Katherine Andrew, MPH, RD, LDN, who rotated off the AHA Board of Directors, and welcomed new member Lisa Cunningham, an account manager with Scott Insurance, a full-service insurance brokerage firm. Lisa has been in the insurance industry for 35 years, has been involved in community service most of her adult life, and previously served as board chair at our partner, Urban Ministries of Wake County.
“Dr. Peter Morris really helped to turn Urban Ministries’ mission around…from providing just food to providing healthy food for our constituents,” Lisa said. “We also focused on promoting health and wellness, rather than just providing basic need services. For me, AHA is a continuation of this similar mission, but it touches on so many branches of our community.” Lisa is looking forward to engaging in AHA’ mission of policy, systems and environmental change in Wake County to impact larger groups of people.
Originally from Richmond, Va., Lisa has lived in Raleigh since she entered Meredith College in 1976. “I have never left the area—I love Raleigh and love serving my neighbors,” she said. We welcome her service to AHA’s Board!
