Moving towards Health in All Policies in Wake County

Bill Lindsay, City Manager, Richmond, CA

Bill Lindsay, City Manager, Richmond, CA

AHA welcomed Bill Lindsay, City Manager for Richmond, CA, to Wake County on August 27 to discuss the Health in All Policies (HIAP) strategy and ordinance that is helping to improve the health of residents in that community.

The HIAP approach recognizes that health and prevention are impacted by policies that are managed by non-health government/non-government entities. Many strategies that improve health also will help to meet the policy objectives of other agencies.

Thanks to the many elected officials, municipal department heads and staff, and other community leaders from across Wake County who joined the discussion.

HIAP slideThanks to WakeMed Health & Hospitals for providing meeting space and sponsoring breakfast, and thanks to co-hosts Wake County and YMCA of the Triangle. Thanks to John Rex Endowment, which funded Mr. Lindsay’s visit to North Carolina.
