Farm to School in North Carolina: Draft Strategic Plan

F2S picThe Farm to School Coalition of NC is working to expand and strengthen farm to school initiatives across the state. The Coalition, which began in 2011 and held several planning meetings  in 2012, identified existing areas of success in farm to school programming throughout the state, including:

  • training
  • curriculum development
  • farm to school procurement strategies
  • hands-on learning
  • promotional efforts
  • planning and evaluation

On July 25th, more than 100 stakeholders gathered to learn and share about farm to school efforts at a statewide conference in Raleigh During the conference, the draft Strategic Plan was shared with a request for feedback. The plan includes the vision, mission, goals, objectives and strategies.

The Coalition is asking anyone with an interest in farm to school to share feedback on the draft plan via a survey by Aug. 14.
