Plant a Row for the Hungry Kick-off March 14

PARJoin Logan Trading Co. on Saturday, March 14 from 11am-3pm for a day of free festivities to launch the 7th annual Plant A Row for the Hungry program, Grow with Logan’s – celebrating 50 years with 50,000 lbs.!

Bring your family together by growing fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs in your own back yard, patio or community garden. Grow with Logan’s is a free event featuring activities for the whole family, refreshments, educational demonstrations, and tons of giveaways for kids and adults. Participate in a free class on growing fruits in your garden at 9 am.

Sign up to participate in the 2015 Plant A Row program (PAR) and you’ll receive a raffle ticket, plus a variety of goodies to get you growing. Anyone can sign up to participate–whether you plant one pot, one row, one acre or anything in between.  Not a gardener? No problem.

Plant a Row for the Hungry is a program established in 1995 by the Garden Writers Association to encourage communities throughout the nation to grow and donate fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs to help relieve hunger. For the seventh year in a row, Logan’s is honored to serve the community as a local produce donation site for growers, as well as a collection site for the  Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, its local agency partner that distributes produce to food pantries, soup kitchens, and other hunger relief organizations in our area.

Thanks to our many dedicated growers, last year’s PAR campaign yielded over 35,000 pounds of fresh produce. In conjunction with Logan’s 50th anniversary, this year’s goal is 50,000 pounds.
