Dig In to Healthy Food & Community on March 7: Register Now!

2015 web button plainRegister now for AHA’s 6th Annual Dig In! AHA and partner Marbles Kids Museum present Dig In! on Sat., March 7, exploring urban agriculture, community gardens, edible gardens in schools and child care settings, and family garden fun.

Participate in how-to workshops throughout the morning, help build new features for the Marbles garden, explore garden play and join in service learning at one of several urban farms or gardens in Raleigh to extend the learning and truly “dig in.”

Here’s a snapshot of the day:

  • 8:30 am-1 pm: Workshops
  • 11 am-2 pm: Booths, Garden Build and Garden Fun
  • 2-3:30 pm: Service Learning at Local Urban Farms & Gardens (optional)

Dig In! will kick off with our keynote address: Growing Communities—What It Takes to Make Your Neighborhood Greener, Friendlier, Safer & More Fun featuring Jay Walljasper, a writer and speaker specializing in stories that evoke the power of play in our communities, society as a whole, and our everyday lives.

Workshops will feature local experts sharing information on topics of interest for those new to community gardens, as well as those already digging in and looking to expand their knowledge base.
