Wake County SmartStart Grant Opportunity Announced

Wake County SmartStart logoWake County SmartStart announces its new three-year funding cycle for work to support young children and their families in Wake County. Wake County collaboratives and agencies are invited to submit grant applications in the FY 14-17 request for proposals.

Proposals must address at least one of the following goal areas:

  • Children are in safe, supportive home environments
  • Children are in high quality child care that contributes to positive child outcomes
  • Children are healthy and developmentally ready for school
  • Children and families are supported by a strong, diverse, integrated early childhood system

Bids are due Feb. 24, and detailed information will be provided at a bidders’ conference on Jan. 23, 2-4 pm and Jan. 24, 9-11 a.m. The application and the budgetary and programmatic requirements will be reviewed in detail.
