Multi-generational Playground Grant Available for Raleigh Area

lifetrail_458x293_0KaBOOM!, a non-profit organization that helps communities build playgrounds, has a funded playground opportunity in Raleigh/Durham in September. This opportunity is to build a multigenerational playspace, which will include not only a new community-built playground, but three LifeTrail adult fitness stations for adults or seniors to enjoy the play area together with their children.

In addition to having funding for a new playground this September, KaBoom is likely to have funding for another playground in our area in 2014. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but any organization that wishes to put in a new playground this September is encouraged to apply now. Details on the eligibility for the grant are featured on the KaBOOM! site.

KaBOOM! seeks to serve a low-income and/or special needs community that either has a playground or needs to replace an existing unsafe or outdated playground. KaBOOM! playgrounds are installed in a day on at least 2,500 square feet of flat, dirt surface.
