The Learning Connection: Healthy Kids Are Ready to Learn

As Action for Healthy Kids The Learning Connection picturecelebrates Every Kid Healthy Week through April 26, check out its new report,  The Learning Connection: What You Need to Know to Ensure Your Kids are Healthy and Ready to Learn.

The Learning Connection is an easy-to-read report that demonstrates how:

•    Physical activity supports academic achievement
•    Kids who eat well, learn better
•    Healthier practices increase schools’ bottom lines

In fact, key findings highlighted in the report include that moderate (physical) activity increases kids’ neuroelectric (or brain) activity and that, on average, students who eat school breakfast have been shown to attend 1.5 more days of school per year and score 17.5 percent higher on standardized math tests. Equally important, the report provides readers with information they’ll can use to help make healthful changes in their local schools.
