Edible Gardening & Landscape Grants Available

Nourishing NC Grant Program

edible landscapeThe North Carolina Recreation & Park Association (NCRPA) in partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina announced the third  round of funding for community gardens across the state as part of the Nourishing NC grant program.  Funding up to $3000 is available to establish or enhance an existing garden.  All funded gardens must be on public land. 

Details and application can be found online at www.ncrpa.net/nourishingnc and the deadline is Friday, Feb. 22, 5pm. A number of counties have already received funding through previous grant cycles and are not eligible… Wake County IS eligible!  Questions: contact NCRPA at 919-832-5868 or info@ncrpa.net.

 GRO1000 Grassroots Grants

ScottsMiracle-Gro provides GRO1000 Grassroots Grants to help foster community spirit and public service. Grassroots Grants of up to $1,500 are awarded to local communities to help bring edible gardens, flower gardens and public green spaces to neighborhoods across the United States.

The deadline is February 18. Frequently asked questions, online application and questions for the grant application are all online.

The N.C. Department of Environmental Education and Public Affairs lists quite a few grant opportunities–may for school and community gardens. The format is easy to use as grants in order of the deadline, as well as ongoing grant opportunities.
