Cooking with Heart in Zebulon
If Americans were to prepare meals at home, they would likely consume more fruit and vegetables and other healthier food choices. Today, restaurants and convenience foods are the source of many American’s meals, therefore they consume far too many calories, fat and sodium.
In celebration of February’s American Heart Month, Wake County Human Services’ Health Promotion Chronic Disease Prevention Program, in partnership with the American Heart Association, will sponsor an educational event, “Simple Cooking with Heart,” on Feb. 12, 6:30 pm in Zebulon. The goals of this event are to identify how to make small but lasting improvements to your health and learn new skills in order to prepare nutritious and heart healthy meals at home.
Come prepared for free food sampling and the opportunity to participate with food demos and win a prize! Registration is required and space is limited. To register, call Elizabeth Spender Smith @ 919-250-3990 by February 5. Download this Simple Cooking for Heart flier with details.
